30 weeks and the girls' nursery!

I don't think I have ever been this uncomfortable for this long of a period of time in my life! Sitting or standing, it doesn't really matter. I haven't had a restful night's sleep in some time now. I don't mean to complain; I am just putting it out there. LoL.

On a happier note, on our last visit to the doctor, we found out that the girls are almost 4 pounds each and are doing excellent! : ) It's always nice to get the news that they are healthy and growing well!

Uncle Greg visited this weekend and got the nursery all painted and helped Chris assemble the furniture! We still have to pick up the other long dresser and assemble a bookcase, which will hopefully happen this weekend! I am trying to find wall art that I like and I think that I have from a website called etsy.com (which can be oh so very dangerous for anyone who has/will have children!). Here are some pics of the nursery as it is right now and I will post more pics as we get things done in there : )

I also promise to take a belly pic for everyone tomorrow and post it. Many have asked, so I will deliver! But it is bedtime now... Or at least it is time to attempt to get some sleep... Night all!

25 weeks!

We had our big baby shower in Illinois on June 5th and it was absolutely beautiful! Everyone was so very generous and sweet and we appreciate it so much! We got just about everything that we are going to need for these little ladies : ) Everything from onesies to high chairs to diapers and all that lies in between. Here are a few pictures from the shower:

Some of the gifts

My cake! I loved how it turned out. My friend Jenny from the shop did it : )
Hooray! Baby carrier covers!

These little ladies are so loved and so cared by so many already!

We also had a Dr's appointment yesterday and everything looked great! Both babies are right at about 2 lbs : ) It is always exciting to see them on the monitor. I am quite spoiled in that I get an ultrasound at every appointment with twins! I will have to go back in two weeks for the glucose testing. At that point, I will be 7 months along and into the third trimester already! My, oh, my how the time has flown!

On Thursday, my mom will be here for a visit! We are going to dinner with the ladies from work on Friday and then on Saturday, my friends here in KY are going to have a shower for us! It should be a great weekend!

22 Weeks!

Our two sweet little girls are growing so fast! They each weigh a pound a piece. They are also moving like crazy! Whoever is on the left likes to kick her mommy in the ribs, which is lovely! LoL. It is, however, very exciting to feel them move in there. When we saw them at the last ultrasound, they looked like Rock 'em, Sock 'Em robots with as much as they were throwing punches; it's a good thing they are each in their own sacs! I can't believe that they will be here in about three months!

20 weeks!

Well, I had my first Mother's Day with babies on the way : ) I had many people wish me a Happy Mom-to-be Day and I got maternity clothes from my parents and my parents-in-law and Chris got Cubs vs. Reds tickets for us and we also bought the bedding for our little ladies from Pottery Barn Kids; I can't wait to see their room all put together! My Uncle Greg is going to come out the first weekend in July to paint their room, too!

We got to see our friends Chris, Chelsea and their daughter, Rease, for her 2nd birthday party! It's always good to see them and I wish it were easier to do so. We're all just spread out and have lots of crazy things going on.

I am very excited to see my parents-in-law, Pam and Angelo and my sisters-in-law, Stacy and Julie this weekend! We're heading to Missouri to see Stacy graduate from Mizzou : ) We're also going to stop and see our friends, Evan and Carissa, on Friday, which should be fun; we haven't seen them in almost a year.

My shower at home is in less than a month and I am also very excited to see the rest of my family and friends! I can't believe how fast time is going by, though. I am already in my fifth month and it just doesn't seem possible. I know that I should be prepared for time flying as I know that once they get here it will probably go by even faster.

18 weeks and a belly pic!

Here is the belly picture that everyone seems to be requesting! Lol. I am about 18 1/2 weeks along and am feeling pretty good! I just feel tired most of the time, but other than that, I can't really complain! As I am sure that most of you know by now, but we did find out that we are having two little ladies!! : ) We couldn't be more excited! But before you ask, we are keeping the names a secret until they are born!

We had a great visit with my family this weekend for Easter! Mom, Dad, Alex, Tony, Aunt Rox, Claire, Uncle Greg, Ida and Aarushi all came to visit. We had a really nice dinner despite all of the crazy weather we are having here in Kentucky.

Chris and I were also able to register at Buy Buy Baby and Babies 'R Us. It really made us realize just how much stuff you need for not only one baby, but two! I had a lot of fun and miiiiight have gotten stuck in the clothing section, but I can't help it! There are just entirely too many cute little outfits : ) These babies will certainly be well-dressed!

15 Weeks!

Here it is! I finally posted a bump picture! Sorry that it took two weeks. As you can see, Willow wanted to be included in the picture. This was taken this past Saturday at 15 weeks exactly. There's certainly no hiding the fact that there are babies in there : ) Two weeks from today, we will hopefully find out the genders of our little bambinos at our next appointment; we just can't wait!

We have picked out the cribs that we like, but I have the difficult task of picking out bedding for both a girl and a boy so that I have options no matter what the genders end up being. There are so many cute ones out there that I just don't know how I am going to pick! We will also have to register in the next three weeks or so as my shower is on June 5th so that means we have to pick out everything else, too! Chris has already picked out Recaro baby seats (they make racing seats like the ones in his Lancer Evolution. LoL) so we still have to pick out the carriers, stroller, high chairs, etc. Needless to say, it's a pretty daunting task. I can't wait until I can start putting their room together!

We have a lot going on in the next few months with birthdays, graduations, weddings, and showers to attend, we will be traveling quite a bit. We are also actively trying to pick out a new car for me as my Corolla just won't be big enough for twins, dogs, and all the other stuff you travel with when you have babies. I am actively trying to avoid having to buy a minivan, but who knows what I will end up with. I'll keep everyone posted!

Second trimester!

Hey hey!

I am excited to enter the second trimester as of yesterday! I am hoping that the second trimester is better than the first, so we will see. This past week wasn't much fun as I experienced more headaches and nausea, so much so that I actually stayed home from work last Tuesday. I did make it through the entire first trimester without throwing up, so that's something! haha.

Chris has come up with a new nickname for me: Pregosaurus Rex. Lol. He thinks it's hilarious. Oh well. I let him have his fun... for now. Muhahahaha.

We are really looking forward to the next ultrasound appointment on Monday, March 21st. Only one more week away! Hooray!

Twins! 11 weeks along

Hi Everyone!

I thought it would be a good idea to start a blog so that everyone can keep up with what is going on with us and our sweet babies-to-be! I am technically due on September 20, but the doctors say that twins usually come about a month earlier as 37 weeks is considered full-term for them. We went to the first ultrasound on February 15th and got the shock of a lifetime! We never expected that we would be told that we would be having twins! I admit that I was in shock for a good hour while Chris took it in stride with a huge smile on his face. Haha! The ultrasound went very well and we got to see both of them and hear both heartbeats. Personally, I think they look like little aliens, but I'm sure they will up the cute factor as time progresses ; ) We have another ultrasound appointment on Monday, March 21st and I can't wait to see and hear them again! I also wish that we could find out the genders now, but unfortunately, we still have to wait a bit. We promise to let everyone know as soon as we do!

As for me, I have been very nauseated and sleepy these past few weeks. In fact, I have fallen asleep on the couch almost every night. I am hoping that as I enter the second trimester, the symptoms fade away (as I have heard they do) so that I can start really enjoying being pregnant. I have a bit of a bump right now and I fear it will get quite larger in the coming weeks and subsequent months. I will be sure to take pictures to document my ever growing belly. I have been reading books on pregnancy and also on twins to try and gain some insight as to what is going to happen and what to do after the little ones arrive. Many of the books are quite informative and give you a great look at what the baby looks like at varying stages of development and also what you can expect to happen to you throughout the pregnancy. Some of them are scary and give you statistics you don't want to hear about things like bed rest, premature babies, deformities, etc. While I can recognize that it's usually better to be informed, it doesn't stop me from worrying. I just try not to think about what could go wrong and rather focus on doing whatever I can to ensure their safe arrival in August or September.

It's funny to think that two people are growing in there sometimes, but it's also so very exciting! Like Chris said, some people have trouble getting pregnant at all, but we are lucky enough to have two at once : )

More to come soon!
